বায়োগ্রাফি : Pierre Jules Théophile Gautier was born to Jean-Pierre Gautier, a properly refined but minor government official, and his mother was Antoinette-Adelaïde Cocard. Théophile Gautier was a French poet, art and Literary critic, dramatist, novelist, journalist, and art and literary critic. When ballerina Carlotta Grisi didn’t return his feeling he married her sister singer Ernestina Grisi-Gautier. Throughout his life, Gautier traveled extensively and his travel literature expressed his taste in art and literature. He went to Collège Louis-le-Grand in Paris and was surrounded by many famous future writers and creative minds of his time. There he befriended Gérard de Nerval and Victor Hugo.
